Americans Migrating to Florida

Americans are moving south! According to a study done by the mortgage company Lending Tree,

"The Sunshine State has a long history of bringing in visitors and new residents, particularly retirees."

So it's no real surprise when Florida was named the #1 destination for people moving from state-to-state. In fact, among out-of-state movers, 12.4% of mortgage requests were for Florida.Even when adjusted for population, Florida ranked #2. And Florida is the 3rd most populous state, so that's really saying something.Alabama and Georgia, the only states that share a border with Florida, were 2 of the 30 states where the top out of state destination was just crossing a state line.

Florida was the #1 destination for 13 of the other 20 states. That means Florida was the #1 destination for 15 of the other 49 states. And Florida ranked the 3rd lowest for the percentage of residents looking to move out of state.
